Nature bingo turns any walk, hike, or backyard visit into a scavenger hunt. Draw a grid, fill it with things to find outside, and see who can get four in a row first. It works in any season, any location, and for any age.
Time: 30-60 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easy
Materials
- Blank 4×4 bingo card (draw your own or use a printable)
- Pencil or pen for marking
- Clipboard or book to write on (optional)
What to Do
- Make your cards. Draw a 4×4 grid on paper (16 squares). Or print a blank template.
- Fill in the squares. Write or draw one nature item in each square. Choose items you might actually find in your area. Ideas: bird, pinecone, spider web, mushroom, animal track, feather, acorn, flower, moss, lichen, cloud shape, insect, squirrel, berry, smooth rock, something red.
- Head outside. Bring your cards to a park, trail, backyard, or even a sidewalk. Search for each item on your card.
- Mark what you find. Cross off or check each square as you spot the item. No picking or collecting needed, just spotting.
- Win. First player to get four in a row (across, down, or diagonal) wins. Or try to fill the entire card for a bigger challenge.
