The shoebill is one of the strangest-looking birds on Earth, with a massive shoe-shaped bill, intense staring eyes, and a prehistoric vibe. Follow these four steps to draw your own.

- Paper
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Markers or colored pencils (for coloring)
Steps
- Draw the head and bill. Start with a large triangle angled slightly downward for the bill. It should be wide and deep, like a wooden clog or a Dutch shoe. Add a rounded head shape on top, connected to the back of the bill.
- Add the body. Draw a large, rounded body below the head. Shoebills are stocky birds, so make the body wide.
- Draw the legs and feet. Shoebills have long, thin legs. Draw two straight lines down from the body, ending in large, spread-out toes. Color in the bird’s eyes.
- Add details. Draw feathers on the top of the head and on the bird’s body. Add a tail, a curved hook on the bill, and any other details you like.
