Handmade panda candy jar with black felt ears and bamboo filled with pink heart candies

Turn a plain clear jar into an adorable panda that holds candy, snacks, or small treasures. This craft uses simple foam shapes to create a panda face and arms on the jar lid.

Time: 20 minutes

Difficulty Level: Easy

Materials

  • Clear glass or plastic jar with lid
  • Black, white, and green craft foam
  • 2 googly eyes
  • Craft glue
  • Candy or small treats for filling

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Black marker

Steps

  1. Make the face base. Trace the jar lid onto white foam. Cut out the circle and glue it to the top of the lid.
  2. Cut the black shapes. From black foam, cut two round ears, two oval eye patches, two arm shapes, and a small oval nose.
  3. Assemble the face. Glue the eye patches onto the white circle. Stick googly eyes on top of the patches. Glue the nose below the eyes. Draw a small mouth with the black marker.
  4. Attach ears and arms. Glue ears to the top edge of the lid. Glue arm shapes to the sides of the jar so they look like the panda is hugging it.
  5. Add bamboo. Cut leaf shapes and a thin stem from green foam. Glue the bamboo stalk under one panda arm.
  6. Fill and enjoy. Fill the jar with candy and put the lid on.
