Mitten Makeovers Patterns Pattern
Steps
- Choose your animal. Pick an animal that matches your mitten color. Brown mittens make great owls. Gray makes raccoons. Orange or red makes foxes.
- Cut felt shapes. Using the template or your own design, cut out ears, eyes, a nose, and any other features from felt. A raccoon needs a black mask shape. A fox needs pointy ears and a white muzzle.
- Glue the face. Arrange the felt pieces on the mitten and glue them down. Place the face on the back of the hand area so it shows when you wear the mitten.
- Add eyes and nose. Glue on buttons for eyes and a nose. For a more 3D look, stack smaller felt circles on larger ones before gluing.
- Add whiskers. Cut short pieces of fishing line or craft twine. Glue them fanning out from the nose area.
- Let dry completely. Give the glue at least an hour to set before wearing.
- Put them on and play! Wave hello with your new animal friends.
