Zooworks Contest

In every issue of Zoobooks, we publish the winning Zooworks contest entries: drawings, poems, and stories about the featured animal. Want to enter the current contest? See below for details!  

Current Submission Deadline:

  • Send an original story, poem, or drawing about kangaroos by September 28, 2026. Winning entries will be chosen to appear on the special Zooworks page printed inside the Ranger Rick Zoobooks Kangaroo issue in January 2027.

Submission Rules:

  • Stories & poems must be less than 100 words.
  • Drawings must be on solid white paper (no lines).
  • Only images in JPG and PNG format will be accepted.
