Bug Bingo is an outdoor game that turns kids into curious bug detectives. It’s a free printable for ages 4 and up, and the only gear you need is a printer and a yard, park, or sidewalk crack to investigate. Most “bugs” aren’t pests at all, and this game gives kids a reason to look closely at the small, busy world right outside the door.
The download is a single 3-by-3 bingo card featuring nine common backyard insects: ant, beetle, fly, firefly, butterfly, spider, mosquito, caterpillar, and bee. Print one card per player and head outside. When a kid spots three bugs in a row, they shout “Bug!” Keep playing to fill the whole card, or trade for a fresh round.
- Try playing at dusk to add fireflies to the list
- Use a magnifying glass to inspect tiny finds without touching
- No printer? Use the card as a guide and draw your own on cardboard
